Thousand Word Thursday, A Tiny Tale & A Quote - 2009-10-01

It’s not every day I see a snail just movin along in my driveway. I’ve seen slugs, but not snails in little shells. So I watched this little guy, we did a photo shoot, had some coffee, laughed and had a great little time…. and then I told Shane to come take a look. But the little guy was all up in his shell.

“He must be sleeping”, I told Shane

“Are you sure no one stepped on him?”

“No! No one stepped on him! He must be asleep”

“Oh, uh, yeah…he must be sleeeepingggg….” *smirk*

“I’m gonna put him in the flower garden. I hope I’m not taking him away from his family” I then picked him up (with paper of course…he is afterall…a creepy critter that may be infested with filthy slimy germs…) and put him in the garden. Every hour I walked over and checked on him. Still in the shell. *sigh*. Smart ass says to me….‘Maybe he’s still be ’sleeepinggg’.

“Whatever”, I’d reply.

7 hours later….I made one final check. He was poking his little head out!!! Wiping the little bits of sleep off his tiny little eyeballs, yawning and stretching! I yelled, “OMG, he’s awake!”

Shane comes over for a look & says, “Huh, he must of really been sleeping!”
